Today the win against Fleet continued the good run of play we've been watching over the last 2 games, the difference this time is that we got the goals that we deserved.
The best thing about today was the whole team really worked hard from the start and showed good character. After going a goal down instead of dropping our heads and walking the rest of the game expecting to be beaten we continued to pressure and play football.
A good period of work by Lloyd (he's proving to be the engine in the mid-field) ended in an excellent ball forward to allow Ryan Bradley to finish in style. Ryan also scored later to complete a good game he looked good for a hat trick towards the end but got pushed off the ball. Ashley Jarvis did good work and had a couple of half chances mopped up by the goalie.
Goal 2 was a classic, Luke Gedling takes a corner from the left and bends it in off the back post with the whole defence looking at each other. Luke had another hard working game running, running and running making space for hiimself and others, some excellent balls played.
As well as having a good game in supporting the attack Gricey had an extra role in defence because the reserve keeper was a very young lad (15 was mentioned, no joke) a bit light weight so Shaun helped the defence by cutting out much of the high stuff.
Defence looked good very solid against a very rough set of attackers. Well done again lads (Soutar, MacMillan and Watts).
Herve seemed to be quiet but he's settled down in a more deep role and here he does an excellent job in breaking down attacks and making a real nuicance of himself throughout the game. Phil Elkins came on for an injured Herve and again impressed with his work rate, energy and enthusiasm for the game.
Today was a good team performance with the deserved result, it now closes the gap above us to 3 points and widens the one below to 5 points. Unfortunately for the team the expectations for the next three games is high.
