I know this seems a bit naff when we have just lost, but it keeps me out of trouble.

Some of the best team and individual games I've seen have not always ended in a win for the hill, so lets celebrate good football at every opportunity.

Without a doubt Phil Greatwich was my man of the match, looked good in the left side of defence and stood his ground well

I'd agree with that

I voted for Neil Watts for the second game in a row. From out of the blue he seems to have become quite a rock in our defence this season. He is one of a few players I really hope we can hold on to for next season. I'm considering voting him player of the season, because I think he's been a bit more consistent than Luke Gedling and Mark Pulling who have also had a good season.

I also think Wattsy has been good this year in the defencive role but he gets exposed when he makes mistakes due to the lack of experience around him now.
My problem with Gedling is Gary. Luke is not an attacker, he is a creative midfielder who scores by coming forward, puts in good passes to the runners and puts in lots of effort. At the front he just does not look good as he is in the wrong place.
Pullen is Pullen you either hate him or love him. Some say he's creative and hardworking while others say he's lazy and disruptive. I like him but not sure where his best position is.

Yes, Gedling has definately been let down by the formation in many of the recent games. Wehn has been played in the attacking midfield/midfield role he has played some great football, but recent games played too far forward have left him stranded waiting for the ball. Unfortunately in the position he's been in he's needed another Luke Gedling just behind him to create him some chances!
Croydon has done some good stuff with this club over the years, but some of his formations and positional choices seem insane to me, and I am nowhere near as qualified to spot these things as he is. He has often made crazy substitutions as well. That's one thing I will definately say about SJ, he always took off the right players and brought the right players onto the pitch in my opinion.

Lot of points covered in this posting from the ridiculous mom vote to GCs decision making. We didn't have a mom the other night because we were awful, the other night was a well coached and well organised team (WC) playing a team who looked like they had never met each other before and to get a 3-3 draw only illustrates how poor this league is and how totally bizarre management can go unpunished. Not wishing to sound unkind to any individuals but in the absence of DS we don't have a defense,we have a trio/quartet of enthusiastic but generally very shaky youngsters,of whom NW is the pick of the bunch. To temper the PG bandwagon a little ,whilst he has potential, to be inferring he was mom the other night is putting a little too much pressure on him, he is not at the moment a good header of the ball, usually opting to pull out at the last moment, his positional play needs working on and he is totally right footed which puts him under a lot of pressure in his current position. This was clearly illustrated the other night by WCs tactic of attacking down our left side so often which clearly looked their best option. We appear to have one really creative midfielder who has two feet, good vision and can open a defense with a quick brain, LG. We also have up front a young, willing, strong centre forward/goal scorer who has shown he can finish with the right service, AJ. So far, what most people consider to be the right team selection and shape regarding these two players has not been properly exploited. Maybe GC has a cunning plan far above what us mere mortals could imagine, let's hope so. It appears to most people that certain players have cemented their positions in the team according to GC, namely NW at r/b, RMc at c/h, LC at c/m, MP at c/m, AJ at c/f, LD at h/m, LG at , all other positions are subject to variation. Personally I think MPs best games have been at r/m where he is most effective, (what is it about playing in the centre of midfield that so many players clearly not centre midfielders want to play there ). It also appears that whilst LG can't get into the midfield he is best employed at l/m, it is a shame we dispensed with DMc who could have been worked on and would have been a good l/m in time. I can't imagine what impact this almost Pookyesque style of management will have next season but I would add that AP always works with a sizeable budget, which, apparently we don't have. Look around the league, Horsham, Dover, T&M, Dulwich Hamlet, Met Police, Cray Wanderers, Kingstonian, Hastings, all these clube have decent budgets and so can attract players capable of playing at this level.Where does this leave us?. Answers on a postcard to, oh alright post your comments here.
