Wahey ! Another three points and a decent performance, especially second half where the Hill had around six shots to nil. What a change from last week..........Up the Hill !

Not sure i agree about the performance, we did deserve to win (if anyone ever deserves to win) but this was not a convincing performance.
Unusally I'll name my man of the match - Tom Endmonds was my mom which meant that Andre had quite a quiet time. Mid field was for long periods just about coping to stay on top.
The best bit of the match was the goal, not because we got the points but because it was an excellent move. Watts played a firm ball to the feet of Ashley Jarvis who took a pace foward and threaded a beutifully paced ball between the defender and the goalie which Luke ran through to place in the back of the net. Simple football excellently executed.
I must be getting picky as we won, it was not that much of a nervous game as they never really troubled us that much. But we can do better, already this season we've seen some good football over long periods of matches.
Keep it going lads and we may be able to get rid of the Victor Meldrew stand, we havent been moaning about the team but everything elsel, but playing football keeps us interested we might stop moaning about the world.

Ok, but I did say "decent", not "great", "fantastic" or "spectacularly good". Bear in my mind my last game was the Darts debacle - so it's all relative.........Sounds as though Victor is alive and well and in no danger of being got rid of just yet........ We're 7th in the table after today, I'm trying to be positive................ Oh, I forgot to mention the ref. If you think The Hill were less than convincing, what about that joker and his two (un) able assistants

All in all a much more positive result. I can't help feeling that we beat a poor team with an average performance, but average is still a big improvement on the Dartford shambles. The defence looked a lot better organised, presumably due to the experience of Stuart Tuck, and Tom Edmonds played in his correct position. This was also helped by the weakness of attacks they had to face of course.
The midfield still looks dodgy to me. I know Shaun Grice is a good guy and can be a good player, I personally would like to see him pushed up front and for Luke Gedling to drop back to an attacking midfield role. Gricey did a lot of ball winning on Saturday but 9 times out of 10 returned the ball to the opponents with either a poor pass or poor header. Luke Gedling is one of our fastest and most skillful players and in a deeper position could potentially create dozens of chances during a game. We've all seen what Luke can do when he gets the ball, so why play him so far forward he only gets to see it a few times during a game?
Pretty shabby performance from the referees but if that's the worst we get all season then I will be very happy. They were the usual standard for refs at this level (rubbish!).
Looks like I was quick to judge after the Dartford game. After today we looked good enough to survive, although obviously we won't be challenging for any of the tops spots. I just hope that we can retain a squad this season. With so many players on loan we could end up with the same sort of personnel turnover we had last year (didn't over 40 different players start for us last season??)

Ok I know I'm a fan of Tom Edmunds but I agree with him being MOM.Another solid performance to follow up his Tooting game. There were some good passages of play when we played decent passes "on the deck".Godalming were useful opposition but never really threatened to score.Luke took his goal well, supported by Ashleys well timed through ball. The referee certainly favoured the away side and the linesman on the Victor Meldrew stand side thought offside was when our forwards touched the ball after running from an onside position.Ryman league isn't professional football but to wear the black uniform I thought you had to know what you were doing! All in all a positive performance from the Hillians, another three points, and a climb up the table.Harder games to come but a step in the right direction.

I agree pretty much with refsworstenemy view of the match. Much more encouraging performance. Godalming didnt have much to offer, other than waving their hands and arms at everything and everyone. The game descended into a mid field melee too often, caught by Godalmings offside trap and our difficulty in getting the ball cleanly up the field. This is the type of side that we need to be beating this season, so that when we meet the Maidstones and Dovers etc we can go at it with confidence

If were going to get picky then: Is the SI unit of power equal to 1 joule per second or something in electricity.

Going back to M.O.M, I thought Stuart Tuck and Neil Watts both played 90 mins of good football (as did Tom Edmonds). Joe Bye had a brilliant first half...although he looked tired later. Paul Hinshelwood had quite a good second half. Jarvis and Gedling were both pretty good when they received a service.

For what it's worth,my take on Monday. Andre again solid, made a great save early on to keep it at 0-0. Hinsh, poor distribution when in space, although tries to do the right thing. Tom,not my mom, I remember he made one really vital interception, overall good. Clay, the more solid of the two in the centre, probably lacking fitness. Stewart, good solid performance, good mix of long and short balls although not pressed that hard. Wattsy,a good performance, his distribution was as good as I have seen, encouraging. Owen, better than previously, just needs to polish up his distribution. Gricey, hard working and committed team player just needs to improve his passing. Joe Bye,faded badly after a reasonable start, needs a little time at this level. Ash, held the ball up well, very strong and thinks about it,good. Luke, good movement and touch always willing to make runs in behind one of which came off.
well that's my opinion,do I need to duck?
