Any comments on the ref and the small lines man who gave everything we did as offside in the first half?
They ruined the game for me, was I the only one?

I've seen worse. It seems quite traditional to see inadequate, incosistent and sometimes down right biased referees at this level. They only stand out to me now if they make less than 20 mistakes during a match!

For those not there.
Owen Hill got clattered in the centre circle a clear studs in the ankle tackle. Crowd pleased the ref's decided to do something at last. All the Godalming players walk back into defence all the hillians into attack mode.
Yes you've guessed it he books Owen and gives them a free kick. It caught everyone by surprise, as our defence had gone forward for a chance of a goal it was a bad situation, luckily Godalming were also suprised and did not have anyone in place to mount a quick attack.

Isn't that when Grice also got booked ? Ref definitely switched the decision - originally pointed towards their goal. Prat.

I think Grice and Hill both got booked during this incident! He also failed to give a penalty when their guy handled in the box. I believe there were 4 clear cut handballs in that game and the referees only gave 1 of them.
Don't get me wrong in my earlier comments, the ref was pretty awful, but I don't expect he will be the worst we will get this year. He was inept but at least he didn't bundle that in with officiousness....the most dangerous combo there is, and one we have seen all too often.

I'd agree. He was just basically inept - did seem to favour the other lot though (I would say that though)
