Having trolled through and read many articles i thought id bring this to light. Whitehawk this season have done there selfs proud by producing the goods on the pitch, however when it comes to off the pitch, things do not look so rosey. There East Brighton ground does not seem up to Ryman football standards, and there move to Withdean does not make the grade either after BHA fc have dismantled all the stands etc. Now heres a scenario for you: What would happen if Whitehawk won the play-off final, only to be told that they face relagation back to the county league as there ground didnt meet Ryman standards. Wouldnt that make a mockery of the play-offs? Just a food for thought

Big bit in the Argus today Smurf. The long and short of it is there is a meeting on Monday between the league and Whitehawk about Withdean. They say they have given the league all the re-assurannces about planning permission (I presume from the council allowing them to play, and installing barriers all the way round etc etc) and the plan to return to East Brighton. The league are worried as there have been other agreements where clubs have said they will return to grounds after re-development and they havent. Looks like it will get sorted but Whitehawk seem have managed to make a meal of it.

I see With-hawk have been given permission to use Withdean for ONE season not the 2 they wanted, they better get started with those improvements asap as they only have until the end of next March!

Its not much of a surprise, cynical but understandable exploitation of Big Brighton's success and the high profile of the city, and they're not the first to change their name to exploit a wider appeal within a town, Eastbourne Borough spring's to mind.

Once again they have applied to the FA to change their name to Brighton City, their fans aren't happy about it
