I know it's still just over 2 weeks away but I am seeing how many are interested in going by train. Provisional times are:
Burgess Hill 08.10 London Bridge 09.02
20ish minute walk to Liverpool Street
Liverpool Street 09.50 Ipswich 11.07
Ipswich 11.20 Needham Market 11.29
Train cost (with Network Railcard deductions as there are a couple floating around)
Burgess Hill to Manningtree return £28.30 then Manningtree to Needham Market return £9.90

I will be going but will start out from W----ing at 08.06 Underground to Liverpool Street to get the 10:50 to Ipswich, then to Needham Market arriving 12:29. Not too many decent ale pubs but the Rampant Horse a couple of minutes from the station has a couple of beers from its micro a mile or two away. £42 with my railcard is a bloody disgrace compared to most European fares but this is rip off Britain as usual. Unfortunately many of our trips mean going through or via London and we are penalised for that as well. It does not appear the club want to help out with away travel, just the usual suspects getting a free ride.

There was a list you could put your name down on for a coach but it depends on the numbers

Never saw a list anywhere, no mention on the OS as far as I could see.

Never saw a list anywhere, no mention on the OS as far as I could see. In the club house, theres a form on the notice board where you can put your name down. Obviously the club need to know how many are interested in traveling, and whether or not its viable to lay on a supporters coach.

Not much good if one has not been to the clubhouse yet. It should be mentioned on the OS.

Well eventually a hint of what might be available. A coach, but no idea of costs etc., Departure times ,arrival back at the club. Personally I would be happy to use a coach to the more awkward places to get to. It's a need to know situation. As long as it's a non profit making idea, the supporters fork out enough as it is.

Plan B, we will be staying on the train for 5 minutes longer and heading into Stowmarket. The Royal William has 10 ales on at any time. Trains back into Needham Market are at 45 minutes past the hour so was thinking about getting the 13.45 back into Needham

So once again it's Needham away for the first game! Might stick to the same times as last season although one difference is to go up to Farringdon instead so leaving Burgess Hill at 09.19 and arriving in Needham at 12.29
