Odds of 1000/1 would have been available with the score at 1-0 with less than 15 minutes to go. The pleasing thing was that when we got the second we didn't sit back but tore into a side whose confidence had crumbled. Once again, considering the number of loan players out there, the team spirit was amazing. The pitch wasn't the best to try and play passing football but we tried and we certainly look more of a force going forward than we did for much of the second half of last season. With games in hand we are now inching towards mid table safety and another 3 points on Wednesday would be very welcome. Next Saturdays game at Tooting should be interesting - lets hope more supporters than usual turn up for that one - it's dead easy to get to. The only negative today was Ryan Bradley being sent off for removing his shirt after scoring. Just shows you what it means to these players !

Spot on sponge. Flattering scoreline, but agree re team spirit - only had to see the guys in the corner afterwards posing for pics etc. Ashford were shot to pieces in last quarter. Glad Ashley J scored - he must have been fouled dozens of times, ref didn't see any of them - constantly being pushed and held whenever he had the ball (and in some cases when he didn't have the ball). Well done to keeper as well - couple of good saves and looked pretty sound.

My big worry was the affect of Gricey not being there against an overly physical team, today the rest of the mid-field stepped up to fill the gap. great effort and a lot of pitch covered. Would still like him in the side!
It was De'ath who got sent off for a second yellow card because he took of his shirt after scroring an excellent goal, it might have all been over at 3-0 but did he look worried waiting at the gate to face Gary Croydon!
To me its just as important to keep a clean sheet and today the defence held their nerve and temper against persistent niggly fouls and some pacey little forwards who recently have been finding the net.
In attack we looked good in the first 25 minjutes but then faded as they pressured our young attack and a lack of service from mid-field where the main battle was happening. When we started to get pushed back in the second half it looked bad but the team started to click again and pushing forward took the pressure off defence and got an important second goal which knocked the wind out of Ashford who had thought the game was winable.
As above, the goalie looked good enough he made some good saves and picked the ball from the air on crosses. Good work son.
Would have liked to see more than 10 minutes of Bradley Walsh on the pitch, his pace and greater strength could have helped at the front, he also heads well. Ryan Bradley was pushed and bullied out of the game, Bradley Walsh could have been more effective.
Another good team effort. 18/23 in the league.

Ok the truth is out here. The reason why we won by a big margin? It was the threat of Jo (aka Racer Girl) of becoming the goal scorer of the season

Good game and good ref. I thought he got everything right today, including Michael Death's sending off. Death could've been sent off earlier than that for dirty tackles etc. That was the only negative side to the game though. I believe we climbed a place above Banstead as we are now 2 goals ahead of them on goal difference? (Hope I've got the maths right there!)

Sorry I must be on the wrong website!
The ref at the BH V Ashford game was appalling, second half I stood in line with the 18 yard box on the dugout side and saw Ashley Jarvis kick, pulled and completely taken out in full view of the ref who did nothing to stop the animal (captain) fouling because the kid was embarrasing him with pace. The number of poor (benefit of the doubt) tackles flying in which were not even commented on by the ref was a disgrace.
Dan can you change the handle for refsworst enemy I think a few wins has mellowed him.

Blimey, i thought ceefax had gone wonkey when i saw the result!! How come we scored so many goals at the end? Did Ashford suddenly fall apart? What a great result and all credit to those concerned. A very interesting end to the season shaping up.

He also sent of Michael Death who deserved it, and gave a beautiful advantage leading to the opener. He's my new best friend. I might concentrate my energy on hating Banstead/AFC Wimbledon/Horsham supporters....I realise this is an obscure nemesis!

In answer to Waspexile, we scored so many goals at the end because we played with some confidence. Our boys have some good ball skills, but they always seem to need a bit of confidence to use them. Also it was handy to have a goalkeeper who knew what he was doing. I bet he has a broken leg by the end of February.
