Well Done to the Hill for grinding that 1-0 result out against Corinthian, however from both sides it could have been a better game , but the officals had other ideas...... up the hIll

ORUE, apologies been on grandchild duties and could only get time off to go to CCFC.
We did not play to the same standard as we have been recently it's as simple as that.
Defenece were shaky though did enough. Attack had three good chances (all headers) which were not taken. Midfield were asleep most of ther game. There were some good crosses but we never quite looked like getting on the end of them. I told Luke to be greedy and bend in corners and crosses.
We reverted to long ball too often, they (CCFC) are not that good we should have played through them with pace.
Glen Matten and Herve started, Leo and LLoyd both absent (Lloyd picked up a knock in the week and Leo otherwise engaged).
Gedling scored in the 92nd minute not his usual standard but they all count.
In hills defence I have to say this was never going to be a pretty match, they kicked and pushed and bashed us off the park: no wonder they have not conceed many goals recently. Poor Bradley and Ashley were both kicked viciously twice that I saw and Bradley was tackled from behind a couple of times, he limped off injured towards the end. Casuals could not deal with pace so they slowed everyone down to their pace.
Did not help that the ref was of the usual standard.
All in all 3 points in the bank. My theory is that we were worried that teams we are about to play would be watching and played down to lull them into a false sense of security. Or we just played poorly.
Sorry forgot the highlight they had excellent bacon rolls, loads of freshly cooked bacon in a crusty bun with brown sauce....OOOh lurverly.
