Three points gained, crap game though. Ball in the air too much, midfield giving too many free headers away and the ref, as usual, was awful. In fact, whilst I'm on the subject he even worse than the usual. Let a number of rash challenges go with warnings/nothing, but put names in the book for backchat and kicking the ball away (although he wasn't consistent with this). Only thing he got right was a straight red near the end for a Whyteleaf player who took a swing at Owen.
Frustrating really because we did put some decent moves together when we kept the ball on the deck......

I don't know how we are in 5th position, I think it proves how poor this league is this season. I only saw the second half but we played the long ball and didn't really create much and when we did we couldn't shoot on target. We can play some nice stuff on the ground but we hardly ever play it, I think we had 3 consecutive passes in the second half then it was a hoof and hope in which we gave the ball away. On tuesday we have a break from league action as we play Wingate in the League Cup but the players have to be focused if we are to progress and host Wimbledon in the 3rd round which could bring in a few hundred through the turnstyle.

Worth mentioning we are the only side to have played 8 games. Some have only played 6, and bottom place Godalming have only played 5.
Havent seen many games this year, but once we are about 15 matches in, should have a better idea about our quality - and the rest of the league!

The football in the second half was the worst i've seen at any level. Both teams were as bad as each other. When we did keep it on the ground and put some passes together it nearly resulted in a goal. GC obviously loves the long ball game but it could be financially disastrous as many will be loathe to depart with th hard earned to watch it.

There were some good points from yesterday.
The work rate was there, we kept on at them to the end. The only area we could have consistantly been better is getting a head on the long kick from defence, there big number 5 had it too easy too often.
No one was walking and they showed a want to be in the game.
Tom had a great game, pity as it is his last for a while. On the positive notes, Fogden has been playing strongly for the last couple of games, Joyce looks to be as good at the back as at the front (yet to see if this is the norm) and the new guy Paul Clarke had a good game. We still have Wattsy playing in mid-field when I still think he's better at the back. With protection from mid-field we should make it awkward for the other teams to get through too easily.
Attack are making chances.
Yes I want the ball on the ground most of the time but you can only do what your allowed to do.
And in don't agree with anything else we won!

Glad to see the yellows up to 5th. I was at Palace so I missed the game. I hope this does something for team morale, which in my opinion makes a huge difference at this level of football.

Unfortunately if you read the Whyteleafe forum the over-riding memory of thier day with us was Mr Plonk doing what Mr Plonk does best (especially after a few beers!!) The sad thing is until the sending off the two sets of supporters were having a bit of banter and a laugh, the push whether it was in Owens back (as Whyteleafe saw it) or the push in the face (as the home fans saw it) started a heated discussion that got out of hand. Personally I do not wish to be associated with this behaviour, it is not what non-league football is about. Sorry I will now get off my soap-box Up the hill

I agree with you Hillfanatic. We seem to be coming out of every game arguing with other supporters or moaning about something! I'm not criticising the moaners, I am one myself, but I hope we can retain our good relationship with some of the supporters in this league and keep the good banter up! I'm going to try to stop moaning about the opposing fans (whilst flying on a pig to work!!), although I hope the AFC Wimbledon fans are up for a bit of singing this year!
