After all the bluster of players being demoralised I saw no evidence of it yesterday. An excellent game of football and an excellent result. After a rather hurried misplaced throw-in, in our own half, the ball was quickly taken downfield by Leatherhead and promptly planted in our goal.Did heads drop? Not to my knowledge and that was the score at half time 1-0. Did the manager inspire with his half time team talk or were the players up for it anyway? In what was an exciting second half of football Burgess Hill scored four goals without reply in some difficult playing conditions. There were early downpours although the pitch stood up well and almost spring-like sunshine for three quarters of the match followed by a beaut of a flash of lightning and a torrential downpour to finish.Oh and the wind was quite tricky at times blowing straight down the ground from the club end. Some well taken goals and good defending especially by Tom Edmunds (ok I know I,m a fan) and safe hands from Andre (could not be faulted for their goal) were a credit to the team. After the third goal the home choir even had the luxury of chanting 'bring on the Torquay'.Well done Hillians and also to Leatherhead for an entertaining game of football.

I arrived 20 mins late and it all looked a bit dull til half time. How wrong i was after the break! Our second goal was an absolute beaut! Fantastic result, everyone looked up for it. Great stuff.

I missed it :-( Due to miss the next one as well. I always miss the cracking games! I remember one year when I decided it was too cold to go down the football (what was I thinking?) I think we won 12-0 against someone in the SCL! What was the ref like?! Any good?

Same for me - been struggling with loads of other commitments last few weeks (never not gone because it is "too cold" though !). May be best if I stay away with form like this......

I think we won 12-0 against someone in the SCL! What was the ref like?! Any good? Cant remember much about the ref! I think that means good?! Was standing by the goal so couldnt see much of most of the decisions. No-one seemed to moan much as the game seemed to move pretty quick and there was always something going on.
