I think the negativity is justified. It's piss poor not to have readily available info about whether the game is off. An answerphone message and a board outside the ground is the least they could do. Crap on the pitch we can all put up with - however good things are we'll moan about that anyway won't we ? 500 a bit optimistic, but can be sure that doing naff all like now won't increase the gates. Some good (cheap) ideas here - is anyone listening though ? And if they are, do they care

True, I'm not normally one for letting off steam but the whole info/communication thing does tend to get you down a bit sometimes.......... I'm always thankful there ARE people prepared to give up loads of their time to help look after the club.
But hey, we're doing not bad this year, remember we ARE actually in the Ryman South unlike HHeath, East Grinstead, Uckfield, all towns of similar size. Last time we were relegated?.............
I've been supporting the club for around 6 years now and regard it as THE team rather than any other club in any other league.
Brightonmike is right, moaning wont change anything.
On to the next match, buy ticket, buy programme, win raffle, buy beer/teas, shout, clap, boo, cheer, rub eyes in disbelief, plead NOT to do a short corner, and home again. Thats the fun!

I agree with what you guys have said about the moaning, and as one of the worst culprits I will have a go at doing something about it!
I'm going to have a bash at seeing whether the Burgess Hill Help Point or Library would agree to put BHTFC fixtures up anywhere for the locals to see. I doubt I will get a response given that the council run these amenities and seem violently apposed to BHTFC having a football team/ground, but worth a try. I will have a bash at doing the same for some places in Haywards Heath as well. Don't suppose anyone else has any other ideas? Anyone work in a local shop or office that could do the same sort of thing? I intend with just providing them with an A4 or A3 forthcoming fixture list if they agree to it, although I know I won't be able to inform them of any short notice cancellations.

Well for one , theres already fixtures list posted in The Help Point in the town along with posters displayed in other outlets in the town. Over the years different things have been tried to attract people along to watch the games and in that instance i do think we have picked up a few more fans along the way. Hows about a bring a friend day/granny/grandad/uncle/nephew etc...... make it 2 for the price of 1 admission and see if any more fans attend after this game. If its a game where the entertainment value will be value for money, and theres a lot of excitement on the pitch, im sure that a few will come back to watch. With this idea in mind, if this happpens we will get more bums on seats, more people buying raffle tickets, beer, programmes and the club wont miss out.Just a food for thought On another note.............. did i see someone mention ? Great stuff a person after my own heart

At the beginning of the season there were fixture posters around the town in shop windows but they seem to have gone, the idea of 2 for 1 or kid for a quid or a family ticket have been said on the forum in the past but nothing seems to come of it. We could easily be getting 300-350 every home game but we seem to play dire football in front of a big crowd.

Yeah, these are some good ideas. The beauty of deals involving kids, is that kids will hassle their parents to go again, regardless of the standard of football. When adults come to the games for the first time and are unfortunate enough to see a dire performance they probably decide not to bother again.
We should just move the turnstiles so you have to come through the bar to get in and out, that way everyone would be too p1ssed to remember what the game was like and come back the week after!

If your like me and have a belly full of before during and after the game , the games are always good ;D

YES UNFORTUNATELY MANY OF THESE IDEAS HAVE BEEN TRIED OUT WITH VERY LITTLE RESPONSE OVER THE LAST TWO OR THREE SEASONS. THERE WILL OF COURSE ALWAYS BE A HARD CORE OF SUPPORT AND ANY EXTRA SUPPORT WILL ONLY COME THROUGH PLAYING GOOD FOOTBALL (NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE I KNOW) OR HAVING A SUCCESSFULL RUN IN A CUP COMPETITION,REMEMBER THE FA VASE UNTIL TIPTREE BEAT US IN THE QUARTERS WITH A GATE AROUND THE 1500 MARK FOLLOWED BY A GATE OF ABOUT 150 THE FOLLOWING WEEK.TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE WEATHER,COMMENTS LIKE :-CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO GO AND WATCH CRAP LIKE THAT IN THIS WEATHER ,OK YOU MIGHT SAY THEY ARE NOT GENUINE FANS BUT PEOPLE LIKE THAT (THE FRINGE FANS) STILL BRING IN REVENUE AND IF THE FOOTBALL WAS BETTER THEY MIGHT JUST TURN OUT EVEN IF THE WEATHER WAS NOT TO THEIR LIKING.FORGET THE LITTLE CLIQUES AND NIGGLES OF WHO IS RUNNING THE SHOW,MOST FANS WANT TO WATCH THEIR TEAM HOPEFULLY DO WELL AND PLAY SOME ENTERTAINING FOOTBALL,MAYBE HAVE A BEER OR TWO,SLAG THE REF AND LINO'S OFF AND THEN GO AND HAVE ANOTHER BEER OR TWO.NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK IS IT ? UNLESS YOU ARE NOBBY NOMATES A FEW RINGS ON YOUR MOBILE SHOULD GET YOU INFO ON WETHER THE GAME IS ON OR OFF AND THE EXCELLENT RYMAN LEAGUE WEBSITE CAN HELP IF GAMES ARE DOUBTFUL.

I don't know if it will help but the Burgess Hill Town help point have agreed to put an A4 poster in their window, and add the fixtures to their "what's on in Burgess Hill" section of their website.
I have agreed with the lady there to send a poster to her, roughly once a month, to put in the window. I will include directions to the ground and contact info at BHTFC as well.
I know you all probably think I am flogging a dead horse, but it's only going to cost me a few pence to do this each month whether it works or not.

Don't know Smurf, but the help point said they didn't already have fixtures up there. They have been very polite and helpful and have said that if I email them a poster or send them one they will put it up and stick the fixtures on the website. I don't suppose the football club is likely to complain if I step on their toes are they? I don't want to do anything that is going to upset the official channels.

Well done that man! - And the Town Help Point (regardless of wether you think its worth it or not) have always been very helpful whenever I've been in to ask anything.
It is of course run by the Town Council and free of any "Issues" that our chums at MSDC may have.
As for stepping on toes - I think its a case of you giving the club a hand. Next time I'm in the library I'll check and see if the club details are up to date in the local directories or whatever it may be.
