As fan of AFC Wimbledon I am asking the Sports Minister RH Mr Richard Caborn to intervene with the Football Association after AFC Wimbledon were "unfairly" docked 18 points by the Ryman Football League and thrown out of the FA Trophy, following a minor administrative error. I would be grateful if you could sign the petition here petitions.pm.gov.uk/wimbledon/Once you have signed the petition could you please check your mailbox and reply to the mail that has been sent by petitions.pm.gov.uk Website to ensure your Signature is registered, Thanks in advance, Wagner A.K.A Brazilian Don

If only petitions were started every time we were punished for minor administration errors :-(

I think a points deduction is the right thing to do, even I knew that if a club based in England got a player from Wales/Scotland then they would need International clearance as their registration is with a foreign F.A

I agree Dan. I don't know why a different rule should apply to AFC Wimbledon than anyone else. I have to admit, I am not going to sign this petition. Partly for this reason and also partly because a couple of their supporters didn't exactly befriend me when we were in the same league last season. When AFC Wimbledon start campaigning to overturn our floodlight fines I might change my mind.

Altrincham got the same punishment last season, Accrington could get a points deduction for playing 2 ineligable players in 2 games earlier in the season, it's the clubs own fault!
If it happened to Burgess Hill I'd accept it

As you may be aware, the FA accepted our appeal and reduced the penalty to only 3 points. Everyone of us were surprised by the amount of the reduction but also pleased beyond belief.
We never denied having made the mistake, what we were challenging was the severity of the punishment. As it was, the FA agreed with us and accepted the exceptional circumstances which led to the error.
What we have done is nothing more than use an option open to all Clubs in the League which is the appeal process.
If your Club were also subjected to excessive punishment and under threat of ruining your season, I hope you would also seek to have that punishment reduced by an independent panel. That rule is in the League statutes and apply to all.
Thank you very much for those who supported us and we look forward to our next visit to Burgess Hill.
You lot are a friendly Club with a great ground and an excellent Club House.
Shame about the lights having to go off so early.
Regards to all and good luck for the rest of the season.
Regards,
