John Crumplin today quit as Ringmer boss claiming: "I've been let down."
Crumplin is leaving the County League title favourites after chairman Richard Soan admitted that the club would not be able to gain promotion to the Ryman League.
The former Albion defender was desperate to manage the club at a higher level but Ringmer have run out of time to get their Caburn Field ground up to standard by the March 31 deadline.
Crumplin said: "I am not going to do it next season. I need to manage at a higher level and I thought I would be able to do that with Ringmer. It is a case of broken promises, I feel I have been let down.
"I will be leaving. Whether they want me to finish the season or go now is up to them but I will be leaving.

I know Gary wants to stay on as manager next season and has done wonders sice taking over again but surely John Crumplin was on everyones mind last year before Steve got the job would be a good person to bring in under Gary who would be in a director of football role at the club. John states that he wants to manage at a higher level and has done wonders at Ringmer on a small budget this year.

Having read last weeks NLF paper, there may not be any promotions from lower level teams anway. The whole league restructuring is in a shambles, so even if Ringmer did have there ground up to standard, whos to say that they would have been promoted any way.

Dan that would be a disastrous move for BHTFC,this guy has got more rattles and more prams than anyone could imagine, his only talent is making enemies. I suspect you would see a minor exodus of players/staff were he to join, and even worse you would gain his protege a certain DT, not a good move. The guys a legend ? in his own lunchtime.
